May 11, 2006STONE SOUR have issued a statement officially announcing the addition of drummer Roy Mayorga (ex-SOULFLY, most recently a touring member of SEPULTURA) as a full-fledged member of the group.
Commented the band: "Aside from being a cool guy, Roy did one hell of a job playing on the [new] album and we're looking forward to going on the road with him in a few weeks, and seeing all of you as well."
STONE SOUR's sophomore CD, "Come What(ever) May", will be released by Roadrunner Records on August 22. Click here to watch a clip of the band working in the studio, with a rough cut of new track "Reborn" used as the soundtrack.
STONE SOUR recently shot a video for the song "30/30-150" in Los Angeles with director Paul Brown (MÖTLEY CRÜE, OTEP). A second clip — for the track "Through Glass" — is expected to be lensed during the coming weeks.
"Come What(ever) May" was recorded at a Los Angeles studio with producer Nick Rasculinecz (FOO FIGHTERS, VELVET REVOLVER) and marks the group's first effort since the departure of drummer Joel Ekman.
STONE SOUR's new album will follow up the group's 2002 self-titled debut, which went gold and featured the hit single, "Bother".
